I just had a great workout. I was able to work up to a bench press of 275 pounds for 5 reps today.

It seems like the smith machine barbell weighs about 25 pounds. I added 2 x 45 pound weight plates to both sides. In addition, I added a 10 pound and a 25 pound weight plate to both sides. In total, the barbell should have weighed approximately 275 pounds. I was able to rep it about 5 times for a regular exercise set. It felt pretty good.

It was a pretty fun workout.

I think this is a great checkpoint for working on the bench press exercise. My normal workout set is around 10 to 20 reps on 205 pounds on the smith machine.
