Fun Weekend Projects Reflection – December 10, 2025

I mentioned a small document editor that I was making for fun a few weeks ago in a previous blog post.

I wanted to try adding a new font style to the document editor. Today, I added 14 point Times New Roman to the document editor. Can you tell the difference in the video below?

I will probably need to add a drop down in the future for selecting font styles. In addition, I might also add a drop down to select the font size.

This has been a pretty fun project so far. I will probably reflect some more on this fun weekend project throughout the day.

Extra Reflection Detail:

Throughout my MBA program that I just graduated from, I felt like Microsoft products like Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word were actually kind of expensive if you needed to use them. I don’t really like their yearly membership to use their products.

I feel like… this is a great opportunity for me to to make my own document editor that I might use for the foreseeable future.

I feel like… I don’t even need all of the features that Microsoft Word offers.

I feel like… I just need to add functionality that I would use personally on a document editor. 😀

This should be a fun weekend project series.

I will be working on other types of projects, as well, of course. I think I still need to make some improvements on the basketball scoreboard from the previous blog post. 😀
